Second Skeleton
(2025)
The human body and its organs are,
at their core,
mechanisms designed to safeguard the self-consciousness.
Bones provide structural support,
skin acts as a barrieragainst external threats,
and eyes help filter sensoryinformation.
Together, they form a layered defence system,
protecting the fragile, complex, and invisible self.
When this innate defence mechanism proved insufficient,
Ibegan exploring shells,
both protective and expansive.
Through deep study of mythological narratives,
ancient paintings, and anthropomorphic creature designs,
combined with the language of modern exoskeletons andtooled bodies,
I sought to construct fantastical forms through clothing,
unnatural yet internally coherent.
